It always amazes me how many social conservatives there are on Star Trek message boards. I would have thought that the closed-minded gays-are-not-natural people wouldn't be drawn to that show. But then, I suppose that given that Gene Roddenberry was awesome in some respects and yet still a sexist womanising jackass it's shouldn't be all that surprising. Even within the franchise, the forward-thinking tokenism of TOS became the annoying tokenism of Enterprise (as much as I love all the Trek shows)... I guess I've just been sheltered enough in my life to still go "Bwuh?" when I run into people who have issues with things that I consider normal. I'm sure people will say the same about me at some point.

Having dinner with my dad today. We were supposed to have dinner at their place, but apparently things aren't going well with their bathroom renovation. So, restaurant it is! It shoudl be fun. I don't get to see my dad and stepmom as often as I would like.
